About Heaven In Our Homes...
This site and linking blog are designed to encourage Christian women, wives, and mothers in our walk with our Saviour. We have a tremendous responsibility raising our children up in the Lord. The world we live in today can make this role quite difficult at times, but I pray you can find encouragement here!
Heaven will one day be our eternal magnificent home, but in the mean time, I believe God honors us as wives and mothers in making our homes "Heaven on Earth". This entails our home's appearance, atmosphere, as well as our own personal lives.
Our home is where our children grow up and our husbands come to at the end of a long day at work (in the world!). Our face and spirit is the one they live with day in and day out.
What an awesome role God has given us, and a hard one too!Together, let's learn and share the insights God has given us to be an encouragement to one another. Blessings!Welcome to Heaven In Our Homes!
About Me...
I'm a Christian, stay-at-home mother, desiring the follow the Lord in His will for my life. I have three young children which keep me on my toes day AND night, and a husband to which I've been married for almost 7 years.
I grew up in the public school system, and the Lord placed upon my parents hearts to bring me (and my brother) home when I entered the 7th grade. This was such a blessing - you don't realize how much until you've been on both sides!
I learned many lessons from wonderful Christian ladies in my church growing up, women which followed the principles for Godly women laid out in Titus 2 and Proverbs 31.
The Lord allowed me to be "in training" for my role for many years - being a pianist, day care teacher, and nanny. Funny how looking back, my jobs then seemed so much easier then with others than my own children now day in and day out!
I opted against a college education, desiring to save my money from working for my future husband/ home if the Lord so led. I knew in my heart I would have a family, and be a wife/ mother, so any college education would never pay itself off.
I have worked in the world, working in an office environment and the public school system. These were both really eye-openers as to how secular our world is today.
So as I write, I write from both sides of the story - public schooling vs. home schooling, job/ career vs. keeper at home, married vs. single, and secular views on music/ dress/ friends vs. Christian views. I share from my heart what God has shown me in His Word.
As you read, first prepare your heart before the Lord, and ask Him to reveal things to you that He has for you now. He has me in a different place than others. Some being more spiritually mature, and others newer in their walk.
All things written in His Word are just as true today as they were way back when they were written. He just has different time frames as He teaches us and draws us closer to Him.
I fail, and still have many lessons yet to be learned. Please accept that I'm human as well, and feel free to share feedback with me if you notice my writings don't line up with the Word of the Lord.May the Lord bless you on your journey with Him!
